The Windermere Fitness Park Construction Makes Rapid Progress

June 27, 2022 – Construction continues apace at the new Windermere Fitness Park. Work picked up last week and by Friday the fitness park really began to take shape as much of the equipment has been assembled and erected. In an update email on Friday to the Windermere PAC and community volunteers, Brad White, head of the PE Department and project leader said supply chain issues involving cement had been resolved, bases are ready to be poured and most of the equipment will have been installed by the end of the day Monday, June 27. Brad is hopeful the rubber surface, the final large component of the installation, would be poured by the end of this week.

As the fitness park comes together, it’s time to reignite our fund raising efforts. As mentioned in an earlier update, so far the fund raising efforts of Brad White and the Windermere PAC have raised $100,000 through the generosity of private donors, local businesses, and from provincial and federal funding. But according to Brad, the WFP project is short of funds to cover the extra costs of signage, seating and landscaping, and for the creation of online resources so anyone can learn how to master the fitness park through watching videos on a smart phone.
